This week my assembly was all about the importance of discussing books and reading. Staff and pupils shared their favourite books with their year group which generated lots of discussion about the books we have in our Library and classrooms. Students were also encouraged to think about how reading is not only important for academic success, but also good for their minds and wellbeing. Many students gave examples of how they use books to escape from everyday stresses and they expressed how they value the time they are given at school to read.
