Pupil Premium

Our intent is to identify and address challenges to success so that every child has the opportunity to fulfil their potential and progress well from their individual starting points.

As a small but growing school within its diverse community, staff pride themselves in knowing all children as individuals and as such can tailor the provision to meet their changing needs.

As a result, we ensure that every child reaches their full potential in a happy and welcoming environment. We recognise that not all children who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged and that not all children that are disadvantaged received free school meals. Therefore, we endeavour to allocate our pupil premium funding to support any child in the school that is identified as being disadvantaged. At Thames Park Secondary School:

  • We prioritise the highest quality teaching for all.
  • We make every effort to understand every pupil as an individual and tailor our programmes accordingly.
  • We link teaching and learning interventions to classroom work, monitored attainment and intervene quickly to address learning needs.
  • We see good attendance, behaviour and emotional wellbeing as precursors to success.
  • We enable every pupil to believe in themselves, take pride in their achievements and aspire for even greater success.
  • We ensure all pupils, regardless of background have access to a rich and varied programme of extra-curricular activities.
